Conor Lamb Wins the Democratic Nomination for Congress in PA-18
Former federal prosecutor & Marine veteran nominated to face Republican Rick Saccone in the special election for seat left open after Tim Murphy’s resignation

WASHINGTON, PA — Conor Lamb today won the Democratic nomination for the special election in Pennsylvania’s 18th congressional district, a seat that was left open after former Rep. Tim Murphy’s recent resignation. Lamb, a 33 year old former federal prosecutor and Marine Corps veteran, was selected by Democratic Committee members from Allegheny, Westmoreland, Washington and Greene Counties at a meeting today at Washington High School. Lamb will now face Republican nominee Rick Saccone in the special election on March 13, 2018.

“I’m honored that the Committee members have put their trust in me to fight for our district and make our voices heard in Washington,” said Lamb. “People in our district are sick and tired of being lied to by hypocrites who promise us jobs but never deliver, promise us health care then try to take it away, promise to protect Medicare and Social Security then try to gut these programs to pay for corporate tax cuts. I’m going to expose that hypocrisy. I’m going to take the fight against their anti-middle class, anti-American agenda right to them. And by the time we get to March 13th, there will be no doubt who truly represents the families of this district. We’re going to fight for every single vote, and we’re going to win.”
