  • What makes Conor Lamb uniquely qualified?

    Conor Lamb is a 33 year old former federal prosecutor, a Marine Corps veteran and a Democrat running for the special election for Congress in Pennsylvania’s 18th congressional district, located in southwestern Pennsylvania.

    As an Assistant U.S. Attorney from 2014-2017, Lamb helped establish the Justice Department’s Pittsburgh office as a national leader in the fight against the opioid epidemic, working to build partnerships between law enforcement and community members in places hardest hit by the crisis, while also leading prosecutions against drug dealers, violent criminals and gun traffickers.

    Prior to his appointment as a federal prosecutor, Lamb was a Captain in the U.S. Marine Corps. He completed active duty service in 2013 and joined the Marine Corps Reserves.
    Lamb resides in Mt. Lebanon, the southern suburb of Pittsburgh where he grew up. His grandfather was the Democratic Majority Leader in the State Senate in the early 1970s, and later served in Governor Robert Casey’s Cabinet. Conor’s uncle, Michael Lamb, is the Pittsburgh City Controller.

    Lamb graduated from Central Catholic High School in 2002 and the University of Pennsylvania in 2006. He earned his law degree from Penn in 2009.
